1967 Pontiac GTO drag car

Year: 1967
Make: Pontiac
Model: GTO

Front Suspension: Modified A-frame
Rear Suspension: ladder bar
Rear Axle: 12 bolt with spool
Brakes: Welwood drag discs all 4 corners
Wheels & Tires: 4x15 fronts, 33/14.5x15's rear
Misc: This is the old McClymont drag car featured in Pete McCarthy's book. It started life as a 4-speed gold GTO before being taken off the street and becoming a super stock car in the 70's. I purchased a gutted rolling chassis back in the early 90's and it took me 12 years to get it together.

Paint & Body
Color: Red
Graphics: none

Seats: Stock 67 GTO buckets
Upholstery: stock
Carpet: black
Dash: still there for looks
Gauges: outside on cowl
Shifter: B&M Mega Shifter
Stereo System: the sweet sound of open exhaust

Engine & Transmission
Type: 455 Pontiac
Camshaft: solid roller
Cylinder Heads: 670's worked over pretty good
Valvetrain: 1.65 Crane rockers, 3/8" cromemoly pushrods, cloyes true roller.
Induction: Torker I manifold with different carbs at different times, actually running a quadrajet off Pete's old 67 at the moment.
Exhaust: Doug's headers, 18" extensions
Transmission: T400 with transbreak and reverse pattern
Cooling: Summit aluminum racing radiator, electric fan. Engine oil cooler and double trans coolers.

Getting the jump on my son Mark at Speedworld still shot Speedworld, AZ 2007 underside cooling - works good as long as I remember to throw the fan switch Inside shot. Carpet is a lightweight material made to look like regular carpet.
