Question Trailer Tires

I tow my car on an open tandem axle trailer. I have always used bias ply trailer tires at max rated inflation (50 psi). I have now worn out my 4th set of new tires in the 12 years I have owned the trailer. I realize that most of the wear comes from the tires scuffing when cornering. I am considering going to radial trailer tires. My thoughts are that the radials might have more flex while cornering and will scuff less. Does this sound right? Has anyone else switched from bias ply to radial trailer tires? - Kyle

i tried radials few years back. had the 2 fronts blowout the first year. Think the scuffing action actually cuased the belting to seperate. Went back to the bias. I rotate them every spring. get about 4-5 years out of a set.

Thanks for the info. I think I will stay with the bias ply. - Kyle
