What kind of 4 speed did you break. I was a diehard 4 speed guy. Broke Muncies and went to Ford Top Loader. Never broke one of them. But when I got into drag race only put a T400 in.
Broke them too, broke many Ford 9" also.
Finally put a 40 spline big pinion pro gear full back brace deal in. So for it has held up.

I broke the mainshaft on a Toploader. It is for sale on the other site. Bought a new shaft and its back together. I had Liberty gear make me an input shaft for a fine spline GM, had the bearing retainer milled to fit a gm bellhousing. It is a close ratio 31 spline. It was out of a 69 Fairlane 428 car. RUG AG.
I must say it held up better than any tranny I had in there. I broke a t10, the TKO 600 2 times. My car is heavy and makes decent h.p. and torque.
I have a nice built th 400 going in.

Got the valve job done and the push rod holes opened up for the 3/8 push rods on the new heads. Assembly time.I am putting in a mid plate, a rear drag bar, and the turbo 400 should be back soon. The torque coverter will be here Monday. Did some electrical work removing old crap.
Added a tranny temp gauge. Should have the motor ready to go back in this weekend to fit the mid plate. The new intake needed very little work to fit. Ports lined up great, had to grind a little off the bottom of the runners to cleat the valley pan.
I changed my fuel line and regulator from the firewall to next to the carb. It's going to be a different car this season..

First two didn’t, smart move going to Turbo 400. Are those D-Port? I like your set up

No turbo drain issues? I know your setup has been on the road some time but I always thought it had to drain higher than oil level. Looks pretty low

No drain issue at all. It is at the top of the pan in the front of the motor. When you are on power, nose up it drains back. But 3-4 years not an issue.
