Default Should I sand between coats of primer or prime all coats...then sand?

Just seeing if I'm wasting my time sanding between each coat...

If there is orange peel in the first coat of primer, should I prime over that as many coats as needed and then sand or will it make it worse?

Not sure if this is understandable, just came in from the garage after being in primer fumes.

I've always found that it's better to sand between coats. Otherwise, you're only scratching the surface so to speak. Seeing as it's only primer, if it's not too bad, you can get it out during the wet sand. Just speaking from my experience though, I think you're taking the right approach.

I have always put 3 coats of primer, then I block the car. Then I put 2 more coats, then I guide coat it and bock sand again. That is my recipe for straight cars.
