My 10 inch is a 3000 stall for those wondering and it is very tight my 9.5 was only an issue at the top of 3rd gear where I'd blow through it you could watch the tach zing up before the traps.
I had the same issue with the stock and clutch I hung a ton of weight on it but I'd still blow through it at the top end. This Chance converter was worth it's weight in gold .

Where did you drill the hole?

I drilled them here. I should have them tested by this weekend. After this my plan is to either send my converter in to get it tightened, or order the 9.5" converter. Haven't decided yet.

Thank for the pictures, I still have never checked the backpressure on my turbo, but figure its pretty high because one Racegate wouldn't control boost below about 25 psi.
My car is apart right now so I drill a hole in the same place.
Getting the converter right is tough to do, mine was built and has been tightened two more times, hope its good this time as it's as tight as they can make it.

If you need to drill and tap anything on the car and are worried about chips getting in, coat the drill bit and tap in heavy grease , it'll catch the chips in the grease and help keep them out of where ever you don't want them.

Thanks Jeff, thankfully the turbo is off the car now. Just need to get my ass in gear and get my car going, been trying to get the old Firebird running also, my son owns it now.

I don't have valve notches in my pistons, so I don't have room for a bigger cam now.
When the short block gets freshened up, don't know when, I plan to take 0.040" off the top of the pistons to gain the room for a bigger cam and also set it up for the sealing rings.
Sorry for mucking up on your thread Meanone
