Try testing at a lower shift rpm. Note my comments above where that combo made it's peak power at.

Congrats!
Mph definitely low for the 1/4 - I'd check fuel system.
My car ran 7.33 at 93 to the 1/8th mile, which is only 1 tenth quicker then yours, and a few mph, but went 11.50@117 in the 1/4.
Once you get that issue resolved, you'll pick up quite a bit in the 1/4!

Test and tune last nite, all 60 fter,s in 1.660 to 1.668, first 2 runs 11.92 but MPH has completely gone away 103 on first 2 runs, after that all 102, very damp and humid at track, maybe my problems, maybe not??? lost my mph?? My last 2 runs of the evening 12.03 at 102 mph at 9.00 in the evening. sucks, going over everything on motor. Oh ya, fuel pressure at 6.5 on all runs.Temp. at 175 degree,s.

Iím no qjet guy, so forgive me for asking - do they have a large enough inlet/needle/seat to provide enough fuel for 11ís? Maybe plenty of fuel pressure, but carb is restricting it.

Rich your running more cam, remember me telling you your going to need more jet. I think Hooter hit the nail on the head. Specially if youíve got good fuel persure though out the run and on top end.

Spoke with Mr. Ruggles recantly, some of the quickest q-jet on stockers he built into the 10 second bracket area are running a .135 inlet needle and seat. but it very simple process of going .140 . seats are drillable. I have a .135 in the carb. now, I will look into it deeper this week for sure. Thank you for your input

Going from a 135 to 140 isnít going to change much. Put a 850 Holley on there and be done with it. Then youíll have a carb you can easily tune yourself. Had My share of dealing with Ruggles and his claims on fuel delivery with a Q-jet.

Question...did you pull the plugs at the end of the run thatís most important part or else you could be chasing your tail.

The correct way to tune Make a run, then go up one jets size in front, if it picks up go up again..... if it slows down then go back down.... then repeat with secondaries.

Or you can do what I did and spend weeks of frustration dealing with Ruggles back and forth.

My friends Vette runs 9.70 on a q jet, it can be done. The inlet to the carb must be opened up to a bigger NPT
