Farewell To Burt Reynolds
The "Bandit" passed away last Thursday at age 82.
Appearing in over 200 films during his career as an actor he started out as a stunt man. The 1977 Movie "SMOKEY & THE BANDIT" hit the market at the right time and helped to boost Pontiac sales (as did the Rockford Files TV show w/ James Garner).
Burt Reynolds hold a special place in Pontiac history/lore.
Yesterday morning the discovery channel re-ran the Gas Monkey Garage episode where they rebuild a 77 TA on a bet with one of Rawlings pals.
They spoofed the Smokey & The Bandit movie in a dream sequence.
Little Enus -John Williaims had a bit part in the skit and Burt Reynolds appeared briefly when Richard & Aaron arrange to have Burt Reynolds autograph the glove box door of the TA they are building for the show/bet.
At the end of the re-run they did a special dedication pic in memory of Reynolds
