U can see the fuel bouncing off the back of the valve. Thats why they back cut the valve....

That's why a lot of car makers went to direct injection systems.
Gets rid of all the liquid fuel falling out of suspension in the runners problems andfuel getting deflected off the intake valve head problems.

Direct injection has its own set of problems with crud building up on the back side of the valve from lack of fuel to clean it.

Very informative video 4 sure.
Yup direct injection is by no means perfect but that's one of the schemes the automakers have had to resort to in order to hit the government legislated/mandated clean air & CAFE standards.
I think Audi ran it on their diesel powered Le Mans prototypes that dominated that class for a few years.

But over the long haul direct injection eventually needs serviced like everything else. Just like CVT transmissions. LOL
Better valve stem seals & crankcase evacuation systems will help solve some of that.
Some of the new cars now have electric vacuum pumps on them for pan evacuation .
