Default New turbo pontiac thread

There is a new turbo pontiac thread over at turborides.com

Lets show the rest of the world that pontiacs are in the map and make a post or two over there.

I think this sight is awsome, but I also think we need to have some posts on brand X sites to show we are doing our own testing and gooing fast with alternative power adders.

Turborides is generic in its brand association so Its a great place to show we pontiac guys exsist.

Theres some great info on DFI and other options there too.

I will be posting some info about the turbo threads here at pontiac zone there too.

Yeah we have seen them a bunch of times here.

They look like a nice simple design, and the only thing I personally don't like is the mounting of the wastgates.

They should work fine because there are two of them and they are big, but they should really channel air directly into them rather than a 90 in my opinion. They are more effective that way.

With a 90 you can see boost creep.
You tend to have to oversize them that way.

I have also heard the price is very high.
I personally don't know because I haven't called them, but thats what I have heard.
The drain backs are nice and straight and thats good. Make sure to put the inlet to the pan as high as possible and watch for interference with the main caps and counter wieghts in that location.
I run mine in that area and its a very small area to work with and be successful.
Alot goes on in that pan and windage can do funny things.

Do they have a single turbo design?

I have e-mailed him a few times, The guy's name is Paul he said he could make me a single turbo manifold but he just started a new job and has very little time right now.It takes him about a week to answer a e-mail. So he is kinda a no-go right now for making manifolds. I may try to contact him again in a few months.

It really is tough to get all set up to do it, But once you get started and all is set up you can bang them out.

He probably pops a few sets out and then sits on them.

My shop is a mess right now. I can't even get it cleaned never mind make anything.

You just can't do a nice job in a messy shop.

Looking at the set up, what do you do for power steering? It does not look like there is room for even a remote resivor type pump.

I personally run a manual steering set p but there is always room for another pulley if you work at it. You could run a electric vaccum pump like the ones weve been testing recently off porsches.

That frees up some room. They seem to work really well too so far. much better than the cobra or Gm units.
Bigger $$$$ though.

I've tried to register at turborides but am not having any luck. I haven't received an email confirming my account and my inquiries to the webmaster have gone un answered. Guess I'll just hang out here.
