Very, very nice. Love the full tube frame and twin turbo build. Turbos are a great way to go for the street. That's what's going into '63 Catalina.

Very cool build , I love the wary tempest platforms.

Keep in mind you don't need to worry as much about weight w turbo power!

Is it going to be a street strip or just strip?

If strip only, I'd suggest planning some room for a nice air to water intercooler. We did one using a big cooler and a rule bilge pump it worked very well. You could even run a second smaller inter cooler off the lines and mount a trans fan for some nice cool A/C in the car they sell set up like that for small airplanes.

This will be a strip only car. The goal is light weight. 1200 hp, Efficent turbo system. 500 CI. Methanol injection. Low maintenance. Cage will be certified to 6:50. I only want to go 8:50s for now. I am sure my son will want to crank the boost.
It's starting to look like a jungle jim inside the car with alll the bars.

If it's going to be strip only, forget the weight, build yourself a nice air to water intercooler with a nice sized tank for the ice chest, don't forget a drain line and preferably exit it behind the rear tires in case it leaks. The weight won't matter in a turbo car but the cold Icey air going into the engine will. It will pay big dividends and it will be more consistent because the air inlet temps will be more consistent.

It will also allow you to block off the front of the car , because your intercooler won't need air to cool it, it will use Ice for if. Full on drag cars don't put cooling air in through the front for a reason..

Turbos make heat its their Achilles tendon, the fix for that is the Ice water intercooler.

Do it however you want its your car, but ill guaranty if you don't do air to water now, you ll wish you did later.

Nice work and a lot of notching and welding

That is an awful lot of cutting notching and welding. I know how hard it was doing my car and there's a ton more work there.

Are you doing the cage yourself?
Moly I'm assuming?

I go back and forth with what I'd want to do next, I'd probably go with a pro touring type convertible if I were to do it again but then unless you cage the hell out of it its useless at the track.

I like pretty much everything I see about this car it's a very nice project. If we had a track local Id probably build more of a race car. My set up would probably run easy 8.50s in that car off the brake.

It was a bit over my head and not enough time to build the chassis. I am have a local chassis builder do the work. The company name is AVS. The owner is a young man names Al VerShave. He has been building chassis for several years now and is earning a great reputation for his work locally.
Chassis is certified to 6:50

We made the front clip one piece. only weight 75 lbs or so. Two people can have it off in about 3 minutes by removing 4 bolts.
