It might bear checking the legal records for the county he was residing in or where his business was located in to see if Mr. Mitchell or Mr.Mitchell "doing business as" has recently filed for bankruptcy within the last year or so.
If you have already retained legal counsel for the matter they should already have ( better have) researched this point very thoroughly and informed you of the options and the cost of pursuing them.

If bankruptcy is the case:

Mitchell or his business could have already filed for bankruptcy and people doing business with him that did not "pre lien" him or his business ,when they sold parts to him or contracted with him to build engines worth thousands of dollars ,they are going to have a tough time collecting their finished goods or getting any kind of refund or payment on balances past due.

Parts wholesalers ,creditors, lease holders etc. would already be in line to try and recover all or a percentage of what is owed them if they have not already done so.
If there was not a lot there to carve up between them to begin with, good luck on getting yours.
I have heard of bankruptcy court battles that drag on for years and in most cases the creditors would be lucky to get 50 cents on the dollar and then there are all the billable hours in legal fees that eats up a huge chunk.
As far as customers go they are way at the tail end of the line after everyone else.

Businesses will do this then re-open somewhere else under a new name and will be sheilded by the bankruptcy law from their creditors.
If the bankruptcy court has already settled with all the major bag holders chances are everyone else is left out in the cold
It all depends upon the type of "BK" (chapter) that was filed.

It sounds dismal but that is usually how these things end up.

I also had trouble with him about 5 years ago when i had him build my engine. Got the engine but had to call the bbb on him to get my build sheet and blueprint and a few other stuff he promised me. But it didnt take long after the bbb contacted him that he emailed me and said everything was in the mail

Well Lou I'll tell you what. If he did business like that in my area, the s.o.b would have a dirt blanket to keep him warm.

Still nothing here. Does anyone have an address for him? I work with a guy who retired from the Sheriffs department out there. He tells me he still has a bunch of contacts.

I did get my motor it came out well. I wish I had a msd ignition but none the less Andy pulled through for me. I'm trying to scrape up some funds to get her put in the car. I've been working my arse off but we have a tight budget this year unlike the start of my project. I'm looking into a fuel safe cell or ? To put in the trunk, actually cutting the trunk and dropping it in if anyone has any ideas. The motor made 605hp and 6? Tq never got the blueprints....... Anyhow thanks for the help.

I will post some pics of car with motor soon.
