Default If you wanted to build a turbo?

After getting my car going (well I might add), I started talking with Jeff. He has planted a turbo seed in my head after I told him my plans of an F1 Charger through next season.

Soooooo. I have been all over the boards looking at all the various Turbo builds and I am impressed with the power and lower cost involved. The cons are..Fabrication and alot of metal taking up space.

If you had to build the ultimate 535 turbo build, how would you do it?
simple specs now. IA2, CV1 heads. I am thinking of anywhere between 900-1200 horsepower range.

I am curious to see what everyone would come up with.

I have been seeing a bunch of 106's on TTF, racingjunk and Yellow bullet.

You could run a T88 T91 etc but the 106 would be the mack daddy on that big of an engine.

Make BIG BIG HP Were talking 1500 2000 HP area!

I can keep my eye out for a 106 or you could call Job.

I think a 106 would be the way to go! at least 88mm. Over on ttf I seen a video of a bbc on a engine dyno with a bw s595, it made 1400 hp. and they run about $1900 thats some good bang for the buck!

That was my plan... Well until I tried to test fit my friends PT91.5 (same physical size as the PT106) in my engine bay. Absolutely no way to get it in there and still use an air filter I tried that big sum bitch every way you could think of and running a 7" air cleaner tube is not as easy as you would think.

I guess I could try small twins, but then running 2 downpipes becomes a bitch.

It really bummed me out and I haven't worked on my car since.

All that trouble to get SS flanges made and the effin turbo won't even fit

I think this area is where the convertible cv-1's will shine. James, can you still get flanges? Mike

I don't see why not. I reformatted my computer so I'm going to have to dig around for the guy's info. They were kinda pricey at $150 - $160.00 if I remember right. I found the guy through Ebay and sent him some CAD files.

I think I paid $165 for the set

Umm... Apparently you haven't seen a '63 Tempest engine compartment before. lol! There ain't room for shit in there.

Well, I guess I could do twin S400 remote mounts There's plenty of room already there due to the old transaxle set up. Plus I could just use a standard header.

Dammit... Here we go again. lol!
