D-ports against BBCs...
Last weekend, Gene Kinch took "Gallopin' Goat" out for a "romp" at one of the local 1/8 mile tracks near him (Fredericksburg, VA). He called me to let me now what he did... He didn't give any track times, but he raced a couple friends with BBC-powered cars, including one GTO. One was a rectangular-port factory Hiper motor with goodies (the GTO). The other was a Camaro with Brodix 320 heads on it. Word is, both were 454-based. Needless to say, he smoked them both, much to their surprise.
Some folks just don't realize, GTO didn't get its reputation from LOSING, and now that aftermarket developement is "here" for the Ol' Injun, why should it be any different today? Good job, Gene!
