Default Will Ramairrestorations RM4 Manifolds fit a 69' firebird?

I have RPM Edelbrock heads and want to run a turbo on the car....

The round ports only leave me a few options! The RM-4 from Ramairrestorations.com is $359.00 and says it fits 70-81 F body.....I called and they said my car needs the swept back style.....Its not what I want.

I need to drop the exhaust straight down to do what I want....Will these cast iron headers clear the steering?

Does anyone here have a set of those manifolds on a 69' Did you have to grind? would they fit with grinding?

It looks like the passenger side would fit fine...Before I spend $359 plus freight for nothing...Its better to know if someone else couldnt make them fit.

What about that rack & pinion steering that they got out now? If I were to upgrade to that and then use the RR manifolds it should fit then right?

Don't know for sure but that might work. I can't think of anything else that would interfere.

I'd double check on the rack n pinion, I was told in the last couple of weeks by several of the mfgr's that they only fit a 1st gen if you have a chevy engine. The fail to point that out in the NPD catalog or one of those where I saw one advertised.

Steeroids, Flaming River, etc., none will work with a Pontiac block.

If there is one I'm not aware of, I'd venture to guess that the rack might also interfere, as it'll take up alot more space behind the crossmember and could also be in the way of your downtube from the manifold...depends on how far back the rack would sit, and where the manifold dumps.

Rack & pinion steering sits in front of the crossmember , & the 2nd gen RAIV manifolds WILL NOT FIT THE 69 bird. Now if you change the front end to a new complete front section from 1 of the companys that build the entire front sections then they will fit. But you have to swap the front frame section before they will fit.
