The duration may surprise you..my car does pretty well with a 235/245 at almost 124mph in a pure street car..Its a different ball game pushing 600hp and keeping it very streetable.I'd imagine a 245/255 with compression at 11to 1 and heads that flow 320/330 cfm should get it done.

245/255.....Torque monster. If I had to guess I'd say 255/265

No matter what you do a 4.21 stroke is going to be a torque monster.

I don't think that will do it with only 320 cfm head flow. Se Dave at SD Performance and do the 340 cfm heads and open chambers cut down.

Thanks for the advice, heads and intake are going to SD next week..this was actually Dave's suggestion to me in the early fall.I trust his judgement. He also knows my car and current setup well. The nice thing about the shortblock is,it can handle plenty more hp and rpm in the future.

Ken,my 290 heads got me right there.I did not have a single plane intake to try on it.The dual plane 2-4 with a pair of 625s got me to 585 with no tuning.I think with his upgraded heads and Xtra CR and pretty much the same cam should have him right there. Not sure what intake Dave has in mind.I know he likes the modded HSD.Tom

Still using the Torker 2 it has a heavily worked plenum and a one inch tapered spacer to start..I do know where there is a fantastic HSD that has many many hours into it ..It may be worth a try also..just not sure on the port opening size..they may be a little big..We basically want to get a baseline compared to the old setup and tune from that.

I'm starting to say "we" much more than "I" when discussing tuning..because I listen and take advice and try stuff. If someone told me a Kangaroo would help in the rear seat for traction I would ask how heavy and does he need a helmet!

That's a good intake, I made 625-650 hp with it on a 462. Still have it. Camp cam roll 265 duration 650 lift. 12.1 compression. Heads only flowed 265 CFM

TA MAN. My offer still stands, I have a Holley Street Dominator intake heavily modified by Dave Bisschop that will easily support 600 hp if you want to try it. But the potential issue will probably be the port exit opening which is about 2.300" tall.

Back-yo-back testing. On a previous 4.210" stroke 462 it made 589 hp w/ 1/2" spacer and HP950 carb. A Victor intake with the same 1/2" spacer & same carb made 600 hp. This with 313 cfm E heads.

Thanks for the offer..I may take you up on it..I have another one available that is also heavily modified, also has a turtle on the plenum floor.Mike Voycey has it ,I'm pretty sure its his handiwork too.Not sure on the port exit opening height either with this one.The one issue is it is set up for a dominator flange.
