Default Edelbrock New CNC chamber

First picture is old chamber design with spark plug oriented towards intake valve the new CNC chamber has it oriented towards exhaust valve. Much better design

They released the CNC version in 2012.
That article was from 4 years ago. Sadly, I bought my E heads in 2008 before the CNC chamber was out. They still flow 307 cfm, but use the old scalloped Combustion Chamber

Thanks didn’t know that, guess I’m a little behind the times. lol...we got a set of the CNC chamber in the works at H&M
flow Dynamics. Just waiting on him to finish them. Going to be a 505 pump gas deal.

What car are you putting it in? I'd love to send these to H&M when I build the next shortblock.

It was suppose to go in a 74 GTO but things have changed, thatís how it goes sometimes when your dealing with family.

Reading from the article I notice another change in the spark plug location, is now pointed towards the exhaust valve.

A while back there was allot of hoopla about spark plug location on the new Pro Port heads. If I remember correctly it was oriented towards intake valve. Nice to see Edelbrock has improved the E-Head chamber.

I couldnít really tell you price comparison difference between old chamber style versus the new. 10 hp gain, well if SD says so, I guess.

Thereís a couple of things that make it better thatís for sure #1 itís a CNC chamber which makes every chamber exactly the same. Thatís definitely a plus vs having each chamber different CC.

#2 fast burn, which makes it allot more officiant port.

#3 spark plug location oriented towards exhaust rather the intake which SD Ports didnít have.

Basically is designed after the LS port which we all know is very good port. Itís amazing the amount of horsepower their getting out of the LS motors. Crazy.

Their Explanation of fast burn combustion chamber

Fast Burn combustion chambers create high cylinder pressures by burning more of the available fuel before the piston begins its downward power stroke. In effect, the engine creates more power for a given quantity of fuel.

I guess only way to find out, back to back dyno test with no other changes other then head swap. Old vs new.

Better for a boosted application, it will help with not blowing the spark out under higher boost.

Boost those biotch's Gach!!!
