Default Windows XP

I've been hearing that Windows XP will no longer be supported by Micsoft. Ok what exactly does that mean. Does it mean my computer is going to stop working.

Here's the thing. I have a Dell XPS 410 that came with Alta Vista, my hard drive chit the bed so I had a new Hard drive installed, my computer guy said at that time that he couldn't install Alta Vista...soooo he installed Windows XP. Now he's saying I have to buy a new computer. Because Windows 7 can't be installed.

Just means they won't be doing security updates or any other support for XP. The computer will still function. Other problems will be with updates for adobe and other plugins will get phased out for a PC running XP. So they force you to buy the latest and greatest.
This is why I have abandoned microshaft years ago.

Does your computer do what you want it to?

Is there any software that you want to use that will not run on XP?

I have two computers running XP and the computer that I am writing this on is a 14 year old Dell running windows 2000.

I have found no need to upgrade yet.

Well my hard drive crashed, so I ended up going with windows 7. Had it backed up, so it was and easy fix. But I hear you wasn't having any problems with XP up to that point. It was either the car or buying a new computer. The car won.

I still have a p4 machine running win98se, it is actually faster than any machine running vista or newer. Also have another winXp machine. I have loads of software that I still use. No need to run any other newer winblows system. My everyday machine been running Ubuntu Linux for past 10 years and Linux Mint the last 2.
