Default If you guys are looking for an engine dyno to go to...

I just got back this afternoon from New Era Racecraft after dyno'ing my motor there on Friday and had an awesome experience! We arrived at the shop around 8:30am and left at 8pm. Steve Morris' knowledge and experience is second to none! There are no problems in that man's mind, only solutions. We had a couple of issues arise while on the dyno. He didn't throw his hands in the air and say we're done, he solved the problem and we continued on. Their dyno had not had a pontiac on it before yesterday. His partner, Kyle Kirker, was given a CAD drawing of a pontiac flexplate bolt pattern. He then fabricated an adapter to their dyno and it worked perfectly! If you need to dyno your blow-thru motor you better go to New Era Racecraft...period! If it's too far to drive, then ship your motor to them because I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Bottom line is that these guys didn't hesistate to go outside the normal and make their machine fit a motor that is not common to the industry (in the forced induction arena). They could have easily said, "Sorry our dyno isn't equipped to mount a pontiac on the stand." and that was the end. You will not be disappointed guys!

Congrats on your nice, nice numbers. And you've only begun to tune. I read you post on PY and I was very impressed. Just think what those puppies can do ported? Yowsaaa!!! And I liked that you gave kudos to New Era Racecraft and crew. It may be advertising but it sounds like they earned the respect. I just wished I was closer. Now go out and get it dialed in, I want to see the track results. Right now it's good to be you!!! Again congrats. MArk L

thanks Mark! they had my respect before. Steve has built 2300hp pump gas blow-thru motors, so he knows his chit! But after Friday, I got nothing but mad props to their company!

Did you notice a boost pressure change with the better flowing heads?

I say + or - because I will know for sure when I go through the traps, but not until then. 23lbs of boost doesn't kill the headgaskets as bad as the boost at the stripe because I'm at a higher RPM than my shift point.

I knew a guy that went to him for dyno tuning as well. Had nothing but great things to say. Steve set him up for around 1800 HP, said he could have got 2200 out of the combination. Then this guy I knew goes to Wal Mart and buys a Fram filter. The filter caves in on the second pass and it spins a bearing.

That sucks about the filter.
