Ill give you a little example, I was running 11.20s trying to get into 10s. Friends telling me throw that Qjet in garbage. No..No ! Super Stock guys are running low 10s. Here I thought I was this Qjet guru. So I asked my Super Stock buddy long story short I sent carb out, $500.00 later, bolted on car and went 11.1. I might as well burn my money. this is how we learn from others.

Could I have got in 10s with Qjet most definitely with right guy. But whos right guy. Then I finally hooked up with one of the best Pontiac guys in the country ( at that time ) Ill seen you one of my Carbs, first time out it ran 10.80. I ended up buying his carb. $550.00 that was allot of money. But what the hell I already spent $500.00 on Qjet. I ended up getting car down to 10.30s. with few other changes.

So yeah if your buying off shelf Holley like you said, chances you might not pick up anything like example you gave. You got to be willing to spend the money.

Lou is right outside of Stock/SuperStock what bracket racer running one into the tens never mind nines. Last time I was at the track all the 10 and 9 second or faster we’re running Holleys or now fuel injection. Rich is running 11.60. Cliff 11.30 John Hand don’t know but it’s not in the 10 At this time 2020 why play with a 50 year old carb if your trying to go faster. PS we will be taking the same way about Holleys in 10 years or so
