Default Dirty Bird, the "show car"

This past weekend, the Asphalt Angels of Virginia held their 48th annual "rod and custom" show in Mechanicsville. There were about 250 cars on display, mostly Camaros... (surprise, surprise) There were 11 entries in the "Competition" class. Despite a GORGEOUS '69 Camaro race car, Dirty Bird won 1st Place!! Joe (Roberts) now has a 4 1/2" trophy to go along with the other accolades DB has received! I think the caption on the display "board' was the key, "World's Fastest Pontiac"... (:-

We left the side panels off so people could see the "innards" of a funny car. It was a BIG hit!

Congrats to Joe, AGAIN!

Jim

Gene,

Nope. Didn't get a chance to talk to either one, but the GTO is "known" around th area and the owner is known to "laugh" at the prospect of using a Pontiac in his Pontiac. Of course, he NEVER races the car and seldom even DRIVES it. It's a "trailer queen" without class (antique blower on a 454 with a tunnel ram...). I wouldn't be surprised if your 11 second street 'bird would stomp him. Where I come from, it would be refered to as a "turkey tank"...

the owner hasn't met me yet. When i was done with him, he'd be too embarrassed to have a chevy in it
