Just checkin in.. My PZ gallery, has had my car, in it since spring..I live in Clinton Ontario Canada. I am originally from east coast province of New Brunswick..In 1966 a (older than I) fellow in Sackville ordered a new special order Pontiac. His dad owned a funeral home,and promised him a new car for University. The local Chevrolet dealer,didn't want order or had too many warranty problems, so he went to the Pontiac dealer to get his car..He ordered a 66 Strato Chief 2 door white /red interior. He ordered a 395-325 4 speed ,posi trac,metallic brake shoes! This car was built in Oshawa and delivered on a CN rail car(it was late coming) Needless to say, in this town of mainly Ford cars,this Pontiac, became my first auto love! Out on the Trans Canada Fri + Sat nights, this beast was almost unbeatable..Yes, it had a header equiped 4.11 rear 396-325! I was told (this year)by a friend of his, the reason the Pontiac seemed so fast,was because it hooked up so well. The faster cars couldn't get going.. It was tuned every Friday (AT THE CHEVY DEALER!) and did well in D/S @Scoudouc Dragway,and Sanford MAINE dragway..I was stationed in Ontario in AIR FORCE in 1967.. Since then, I have had 10 corvettes, 4 '69 Z28s, over 100 different cars.. Last year a school friend e-mailed me, and told me of a white Strato Chief 2 door that was for sale in Moncton N.B I flew down, saw it ,bought it , flew down again the next month, w/my 11year old grandson,and we drove it 1185 miles home!! It is from Toronto Ont and was owned by 3 successive women from 1973-1991. It was converted by Parkhurst motors(have a 7 sec. 55 chevy) and owned by a guy from TORONTO,who has relatives on east coast..He stored the car down there and later sold it to Andy MacDonald in Moncton,who sold it to me. Because it was a 6 cyl and lady driven w/o P.S I believe this is why it had not rotted away.. It is not restored and had a collision shop quicky paint in 96..It uses Biscayne basic body and interior. They were available with all 66 chevy optional motors including L72 427-425.. my old ponch has run 13.30 @101 with 350 turbo and 2.73 OPEN rear end! It will run (w/Belltronics meter) on the street 98 mph in 2nd gear. no traction lol..Have all parts to switch to Muncie4 speed this month! Its a real orphan, half/Pont-half Chev.. thanks for your ear have a great 08 Carl

Welcome aboard! And thanks for the entertaining read.
I spent a lot of time in your province (and in Quebec) competing with my mini-rod puller- Pontiac powered, of course- from '84-'98.
Is Andy MacDonald related to Ben MacDonald the motorsports photographer?

Thanks for coming 'out of the shadows'! Interesting that the car has been here for so long with no one to trumpet its uniqueness!

Thanks to MAR3 and Pontiac Jack for the welcome! listen to this story . I have had a 67 Pontiac Beaumont SD convertible 396-325 Red/blk buckets and GTO dash 1 0f 602 1971 Pontiac Ventura Sprint 2 door (nova)style 307 chevy v8 4 speed.. 1973 Pontiac Lemans Sport coupe 350 chevy power, and I own a 2000 Sonoma +1998 Jimmy + GMC 2500HD 4 door from Houston Texas.(e-bay purchase) and ALL of my rides have been chevy power Must be a Canadian thing! lol CARL p.s. I have photos of another of those Beaumont SD 396 conv sitting in field in Nova Scotia wanna see em?
