Thanks for the info guys. If I keep the car I'll probably go the powder coat route. That seems cheap enough to me. Especially with the time and effort involved with blasting and painting myself.

Has anybody heard of removing rust via electrolysis. I recently got an article sent to me and the guy cleaned auto parts, trailer etc. in his back yard. My home PC is in the shop getting a couple of issued cleaned up befroe the dreaded warrenty expires so if anyone wants somemore info on this process PM me and I'll post the link when I get Big Bertha back.

Results looked awesome, looked like it was acid dipped.
