Default Best intake for e-head 461?

Combo

461
0 decked
236/245 hyd roller 650 lift
325 cfm e-heads
10.5:1 compression
QF 850/1000 carb
1.75" tri-y headers
3" exhaust
TKO 600
3.73 gears
drag radials

I have been running a port match RPM intake for years but I am wondering if a victor or TII would be the better intake? Does anyone have a recommendation?

I would stick with the RPM, with that cam, the Victor or Torker 2 will lose some low end torque and just move the rpm up a little. Doubt you’d get much gain.

Itís a fine line, QF 800-1000, trying to remember exactly what that carb is, is that like a Holley Carb, Miss that. When you said RPM intake Iím thinking Qíjet.

I like the Northwind I have, it is about the same as a victor but 1.5 inches shorter. If it is a street car with a stick shift bottom end should not be an issue. the northwind by KRE is in between the victor and torker.

Might not be helpful to you. Think Iíd rather have 23 lb torque over 15 hp. My only track testing was between original Torker and the Torker 2. On my 462. With a solid roller. Throttle response felt better, but actual runs the Torker 2 was a .1 tenth shower. Same day track testing.

Maybe borrow Torker 2 and try it. The Victor I think would be out of the question with that cam.

For comparision a few years ago I swapped to a rpm from a torker 2 and lost et and even 60ft..This was with a 290cfm KRE headed 462..similiar cam specs "SD OLd Faithful" and 3.08 gearing. I'd say go for it and use a one inch spacer or borrow some spacers to see what works the best. With my car I found a tapered 4 hole spacer the best for et. Since the rpm experiment..my torker 2 has had plenum and runner work and also been port matched twice to different heads. This is in a full weight street car and even on the street the rpm just felt flatter from idle up.
