The crowd and car count was over capacity.
It took me 10 minutes normal drive to get to the track.
Got there right at 5pm when they open but traffic into the place was already backed up for 3/4 of a mile. Waited in traffic another 45 minutes just to get up to the gate to pay up and get my tech card.
Once inside after getting the car set up it took another 1 hr plus in the tech lanes (they had 5 lanes doing tech).
At some point they had to turn racers away because they ran out of tech cards and had hit their 300+ car limit.
The staging lanes were deep with cars so my first pass wasn't until 9:15 pm.
Even with the crowd I was able to get 4 runs in for the night and I wasn't hot lapping it either. The 4 wide deal there moves along pretty quick.
Last run was at 10:59pm just before they closed it down at 11 pm.
Me and an LS3 powered VW van were the 2nd to last pair down the west side track. I knew the van would kicked my ass . I tech-ed in next to him and saw one of his earlier passes so I new I was covered so I just raced my lane. I managed to cut a better light but that was it. LOL
Here are some links to Friday nights action.
"The Bucket Bird" and "The V-Dub Van" at 1.44" just before the last 2 pairs. Then they dumped the staging lanes for the night.
The last cars coming back down the return road complete w/expert comments from the peanut gallery. LOL
Special thanks to my cousin Gary for helping out with the car, again, and all the other friends & family that stopped by to say hello.
ALL IN ALL , A FUN NIGHT
