[quote=SikGoat;448414]Kevin Chirsky found an old Connecticut dragway car in a back yard 1971 LeMans. Pretty cool find.
I'm pretty sure that may be my old friend's pink Lemans, cuz he was a Mopar guy that I turned on to Pontiacs, he painted it Mopar Panther Pink in a backyard garage at his house, I was there. We put the motor in at my garage. I built him a 455 .060" over with solid roller cam, he tore up the streets with it, and took it to the track once. he sold the car, and the guy he sold it to traded me some stuff for a 455HO top end I had on my GTO. I gave him a 2-piece Pontiac aluminum intake, #191 455 HO cylinder heads, and round port headers from Headers by Ed. he was talking to me about using those Predator carbs and it's too much of a coincidence this car has Predators on it. It disappeared and I wondered where it went. He sold the car in the early 1990's. It made a lot of power cuz it blew the driveshaft off at 6200 rpm and he had the shaft on his garage wall as a display piece, it was bent into a letter "Z" from the torque. I had a new one made for him at a tractor trailer garage from scratch. that held up. then he snapped off an axle in the 10-bolt posi rear, and I still have the little piece of snapped off axle pulled from the posi, he broke the splined end off, and we had to push the car home for blocks at night to his house. once we got it rolling it would drive on one remaining axle, but from a dead stop the posi would just slip. so we'd have to get it rolling then jump in. I have pics of the car having the engine put in at my garage in my scrapbook and it's the same pink but not lettered or decaled. that's gotta be my friend's old car. pics to follow
that's a Wenzler tunnel ram intake too which was 1990's vintage.

my gut tells me it's the same car with some changes, just too coincidental, even the valve covers are the same.
I could be wrong....but....just have a hunch.

here's the 455HO top end on my car, before I put front end on. then after I hung the NOS front end on it.
casting 191 round ports with a 2-pc factory aluminum intake, and factory cast iron headers. I bought really nice 4-tube headers for it later on the net for dirt cheap $200, and traded all of it to the guy who bought my friend's pink car. He gave me the 1150 Dominator off the pink car cuz he wasn't going to run it. I still have that carb

Cool backstory on the car. Hope it gets restored back to fighting trim.
