Almost done with it. Picked up the rest of the material for the pipe back to the turbo. It looks like it with be around 12" or so. The old pipe is 7.5 feet. Thats a 6.5 foot reduction...

Nice, even if it does not spool faster, the car will be faster due to weight loss!
How old was Louie in that photo?? He is a little wider now, then again so am I.

Some nice work there! Too much work for me! I thought I would try fabricating my own headers for my 67 Firebird, bought flanges, a few bends. After seeing how tight with the bends, I went the easy way, bought one of the last sets from Jeff.

Thank you. I know what you mean. There was this moment where I realized it wasn't going to happen and went to bed thinking I was done. The next day I just figured it out an got it done.. The hard part with my style frame is the 2 center ports. Getting 3 1 7/8 pipes over it took some thinking. All you have to do is lean one in towards the motor an lean one out to the control arm.. Worked for me anyway..

Here's a pic. still not done though.... If it works i'll make a nicer one.

I finished the header and pipe to feed the turbo. Here is a picture of the new setup and the old one I was using. Tell me what you guys think. Do you see it spooling the turbo faster or being the same.. I would like to know what everybody thinks... We can take bets..... hahaha....

That is a ton of real estate to loose. I say it will spool way faster. (I know how it used to spool) Let me know when the test ride is, Ill be there!

From the videos I seen of your car moving fast, didn't think there was a spooling issue, it'll really spool now. When I went from rear mount to single up front, huge difference! Nice job!

Thanks , it did spool ok but not the way it should have..im hoping this new header will change that, if not at least the heat will be off the transmission..

How much pipe reduction was there from rear to front mount? I hope I have a noticeable change....

When we did the rear mounts, I didn't know of available turbo headers, we used stock exhaust manifolds. Outlets were 2", so we used 132" of 2" pipe to each turbo, took some time to spool. Here's a link to the old setup :

wow. That was a lot of pipe under that car. Got any pictures of the new setup?

I doubt I will see the improvement you saw though....

Thanks for sharing that.....
