Default nitrous with a 4 speed

What is the best way to set up a nitrous system when running a 4 speed? Have a switch for the carb and a switch for the clutch besides the master switch. Any other recommendations? Any problems with residual when shifting and right back to full throttle?

Switch on the clutch pedal would be best. If you power shift the car the nitrous will not shut off if you use the throttle.

Better have a good clutch and tranny deal to be quick.
Rev limiter is a must. U can also do a MSD type deal with a high rpm shut off.
MSD boxes have lots of options with rpm high and low, pressure switches, etc.

currently have been using a 6AL for ignition. Been thinking about doing something for retarding timing. Just learning the nitrous thing...

Step up to a better msd box that has built in rev limiters.

Well have done updates since this last post. Last winter put in a T56 magnum 6 speed and 9 inch rear end. This winter added the FAST 2.0 with distributor and finally have the nitrous installed. Lots of other small changes in between as well. Going to be hammering it this summer to see what she will do now...

Well was finally able to go to our "local" track this weekend. Closest one to me anyway. track is at 4200 feet altitude. The nitrous system ran flawlessly. I was impressed. Made 2 passes on spray, first one was 11.980 @ 115.77 and second was 11.957 @ 114.50 with full factory weight of the car. Figuring out my shifting with the 6 speed manual and I believe it will get better.

Just installed a NOs system on my TA with a 5 speed. Running an MSD 8987 retard box and dialed in 6 degrees when the solenoids come on. Works great! Need to get to the track and see what it does. Wired a button on the Hurst shifter in series with the throttle switch.

Well just got back from the track. 12.03 @122 with 3.08 gears and an LGT700. I'm pretty happy. What else is kind of cool is some buddies and I went on a road trip last weekend and the old girl got 19.5 mpg on the highway!
