Default 1967 Firebird Tilt steering Help

So I recently purchased a 1967 firebird. I'm a big guy so I need to relocate the seat back...Not a problem.

I need to install a tilt steering. After a long time of scouring the web I can't find any used ones. The new direct bolt in replacements are $500 plus. I have found some universal tilt steering columns for $200. The vendors selling these arent able to tell me what is involved. What mounting other than needing a U Mount if I don't have steering that will mate with a 1"DD connection.

Has anyone here done the steering column swap that can explain what they went through as well as possibly send me images of what the steering tilted looks like. To give me a correct perspective it needs to be a 67-68 firebird.

Thanks in advance

First did you try the seat extensions to move the seat back a little more.
My buddy has an aftermarket steering column in his 69 bird. Think it was flaming river. Wasn't anything crazy to install and he used a universal type joint instead of a rag joint to connect to the steering box.

Working on that, but looking for pictures or experiences with the tilt steering. I pretty much decided to just get a aftermarket bolt in.
