I am definately starting to think I am finding the limits of a good useable combo that will live.
I feel like I can keep it at the 850HP level and be somewhat safe but around 1000HP+ you know its only going to live so long without freshening etc.

I have had minimal cap walk in my 2 bolt application, but it doesnt worry me at all.
If I see it getting worse then I will be concerned.

For occasional use I think you could get 1200HP from a pontiac 2 bolt block and if you keep your eyes on everything it would likely live, but thats with a lot of diligence with the tune and checking bearings etc.

Anything beyond that your playing with fire.LOL
ID be worried about any block at that level.

The longer you do it and the higher you spin it the more trouble your gonna have.
Dont forget I shift my car at 5800 RPM thats relatively low RPM for a car with that much power.

its like working a piece of sheet metal back and forth over and over eventually your going to break it in half.

I only want to show papers that say 1000+ hp and 145+ mph passes and the way those guys are on yellow bullit, d%$# turbo sbf's in fox bodies do that all day long. And I don't wanna jump ship. I will turn it down to a safer tune after those numbers are attained.

I see what Jeff has done and I want to take a baby step further, turn it up a little and show what the underdog is capable of. Shoot, he could prolly just turn up his combo and do that with what he has now. He's RIGHT there.

I ran 145 MPH and I didnt make 1000HP on that run.LOL
I could easily let boost greed take over and tune the car leaner and the car would thunder for sure. I know I could run in the 8's on the 2 bolt block, but for how long????????

Thats the big question.
right now I have a good reliable combo and thats HUGE to me.
MOst people say turbos cant live, turbos cant be consistent. Thats what I want to prove.

We all know turbos can make HUGE power. Thats been done over and over and over now.

How many people have showed how relaible and consistent a turbo car can be.?

AAAHHHHH, ok. I want to see what's attainable on a built bottom end that's stock because I have talked to Marty, and he is in AZ here. He made 1400 hp on his TT setup but it took like 8-9 blocks to find a good tune for his setup. I want those dyno queen numbers at first and then I want to be able to pull a sick top end that would turn vette and supra owners green. I don't want 1000hp all the time. I would like 750 to the tire after those numbers are attained with whatever boost is necessary, prolly 12-14. With a built 6 speed I would like to turn 145 mph in the quarter and drive anywhere in relative comfort and gas mileage.

fwiw... At 12psi. on my 462 I have raced some crotch rockets and stayed right with them. Ive won a few and lost a few but aginst a bike the car is very respectable! We dont have many fast supras around here but I havent lost to any vette yet, With the rims and tires they run they cant hook very well on the street.

Yeah, I have talked to him couple of times and it was like we were long lost buddies. He said he sold his pontiac stuff because he wanted to go really fast and got some Hemi junk or something

Maybe the digital 6al-2 box would be a nice ignition box to use
It's rather new
