Default Edelbrock Up Date

Got a call this afternoon with and up date...the D-port heads are on
hold...but the good news is there going ahead with the new Victor head.

They'll be two Victor heads," a Victor that flows 330 cfm out of the box, which will take a regular Victor intake.

A super Victor with no push rod holes that will flow.....ready! 450 cfm.
It will have it's own Victor intake. Which means we're finally getting a
intake that will handle 450 cfm. We should see this head in a couple of
months.

I find it interesting that they do not see the demand for the d port, but they do for a race head. Any idea on cost?

Great news! Hopefully there will be a set at Norwalk this year to look at. I wonder how much higher they raised the exhaust ports. My valve covers are almost touching my hood already.

From what I under stand the big problem with the E-head is the short
turn. I doubt they'll rise the exhaust port..it's the intake port that needs
the work.

BES said they could take and e-head and make it flow 400 cfm..but it
would cost to do that...so I'm guessing..that's exactly what their doing.

I was also told Butler has no investment in the new head..that kills
that rumor.

I think the 330 cfm heads will cost the same..but the no push rod head
will more then likely be a head porters head and you'll pay dearly for that
one. I say expect long valve's 6.200" ( can you say titanium valves )
but really thinking about it..what head that flows 450 cfm..won't need
them. The price will be interesting to see.

Here's what I'm thinking...the 330 cfm will probably easily go to 370 cfm
which is what a wide port is..but not need off set lifters or rockers. But
if your going for that much HP...who's not going to run a rocker shaft anyway.

The bottom line I guess will be quality and that should make the head
porters real happy. There's a ton of work to do a Wide Port.
