Default 1950 straight 8 engine code help please!

I've just purchased an engine (str.8) for my Silver Streak and am trying to I.D. the engine from the block number. Anyone know of a site that can decipher what I have by then engine number? Some sites have them but start at 1954. thanks.

What code is stamped on the block? My Chilton manual goes up to 50 and has the block codes listed. Does is have a P8 than a 2 letter code than a bunch of #'s ? The 2 letter code after the P8 is what I need.
