That post applies almost to a tee in Austin, Texas and many other parts of the country.

The tax payer will pay for them !

Los Angeles is providing shelter for the homeless in condos that cost $600,000 – $700,000. It’s at taxpayer expense and obviously unaffordable but they continue on and want more of these built. The first building cost $34 million. The units cost $549,500 per unit.

The funds come from a $1.2 billion bond.

In addition, the taxpayers will have to subsidize the families once they are ensconced in their new digs. That will cost another $400 to $500 and there are other expenses.

A handful will get these expensive condos they can’t afford and the homeless will keep coming. They have well over a hundred thousand homeless, why are they wasting money when they could just build shelters and make sure they go into them?

They were supposed to build 10,000 units, but now it’s estimated to be 7,000 units. It’s doubtful it will even be 7,000.

The same thing is going on in San Francisco.

There was a 16% increase in homelessness in California last year which should be no surprise. Socialist California is run by incompetent fools.

"The New Projects" The whole idea is ludicrous.
Follow the money.
Who eventually owns the buildings. If the state or local government does they will have to contract out to a property management company to keep the buildings halfway maintained.Federal,State & Local government cannot get the job done. They can barely maintain the streets and highways.
The operating & maintenance of the national parks is contracted out.
The park rangers in many cases are now acting as police.

Local government building homes for the homeless.
You can bet the contractors are padding the bids to get as much out of the program as they can.
In the same breath local government officials also come to the voters with schemes to build new stadiums for professional sports franchises at taxpayer expense.
In a lot of cases professional sports franchises appear to be the largest welfare queens of all.
The sports franchises collectively pay their athletes billions of dollars a year.
Yet they say they can't afford to build their own stadiums?
If they are so flush with cash let them subsidize the homeless.
Pay it forward ,you know NFL,NBA,Major League Baseball, the Soccer leagues.
They could do it if their hearts were in the right place yah?
Use all those off season empty stadiums to temporarily house & shelter?
Do we see that happening?

Just another big scam, to milk tax payers. Then of course nice jobs for politicians relatives, to run manage them. You know like Hunter Biden, Chelsea Clinton, John Kerry Sun. Goes on and on.

Theres got to be a better solution for housing for homeless

My father in-law work for state of CT. Norwich state mental hospital, for 25 years, lucky he was able to retire early 55, before they close the facility. All those people were out on streets.

We just recently had incident, a girl my wife work with was killed by her Mentally ill son, he later shot himself. She tired for years to get him help, but couldn’t.

We just had another, who shot 3 workers, killed one and severely wounded two others. Even though he had a history of mental issues he was able to buy a gun at Walmart. Nice ! Even though he had been admitted to Butler hospital. Seems like theres no Communication, thanks to the Hyppa law.

They claimed that these mental hospitals cost to much and did not care for patients.
What the general population has to deal with is worth any expenses to have these places once again.

Yeah the mental hospitals kept him drugged up. My father in-law I was telling me
They found a young girl with a Coke bottle shoved up her vagina. He had some stories. Between him and my aunt who also worked at a mental institution they had some amazing stories. Those places were closed 25 years ago so you can imagine how many are out on the streets and families dealing with no help.

"there have been 20 mass murders a year on average. J. Reid Meloy, Ph.D., is a forensic psychologist who studied them. He found that mass murderers suffer mental illnesses that range from chronic psychotic disturbances and schizophrenia to paranoid disorders."

A lot of the mass murderers have either been off their meds or their meds were actually giving them worse problems than they had before.
But what is the knee jerk reaction of popular political opinion about such things?
To outlaw everything that could possibly been used in the commission of the violent act, but never the contributing factors.
Big pharma skates free every time. That industry is never held seriously accountable.
How can it be? Because they donate more money to politics than any other industry?

I have a family member who was being treated by the VA for PTSD with prescribed meds.
That family member confessed to me that the meds were actually aggravating his condition & giving him worse thoughts than when he was un-medicated.
He finally weaned himself off the medications and is dealing with his demons in more holistic ways that will not cause him or others harm.

"They have the paranoid, narcissistic, and schizoid traits of personality disorders. "
Seems a great many of the politicians seem to fall into the category above.

"If the same percentage of the population were institutionalized today, that would be 750,000 mentally ill people. That's more than the population of Baltimore or San Francisco. "
Things that make ya say HMMMMMMMMMMMM.
I rest my case! LOL

Dude you hit nail on head, also big pharmaceutical are also big news media sponsors. Take Anderson Cooper makes 28 million a year, guess who's big sponsor of CNN. Another big sponsor military complex.

That's not news it is political satire like: The Colbert report ; The Daily Show; The Late Show with Colbert ;The Dennis Miller Option etc.Too many others to name.
It is not real news it is political satire/ridicule/commentary & some fake news thrown in for comedic sake. Never confuse it with "real news".
Those shows (+ about 20 others) all poke fun at current events ,spoof actual events , political figures and have a commentary/opinion bias depending on the leanings of producers, writers & in front of the camera talent. All just for laughs.
They are entertaining & funny to watch but the facts are often dispensed with in order to make the punchlines work.
There was a show in the early 1960's called "That Was The Week That Was" .It it was funny & entertaining because it poked fun at current events during the cold war when we did not know if we were going to live to see another day. It was on NBC for about 2 years and was abruptly cancelled because they pissed off the wrong people in government.
That show was the blue print for most TV political satire shows that followed after including " Saturday Night Live" .
