Default 1970 , 400 block identification

just picked up a 400 block, what is it?
cast numbers are 9799914
cast by dist. 70
stamp in front is YD ( big car, bonneville, grand prix, etc.)

NO "00" in the valley
NO "400" cast anywhere

Bore 4-1/8

Lifter bore's appear extra thick, by a lot.
Ribs in the valley to lifter bore are about 1 inch wide and 1/4 inch raised
Drilled for 4 bolt mains
date G289 (7/28/69 ?)

the vin and YD are crisp, almost to crisp. Best guess....service replacement block restamped at the dealer? Hmm...Thick lifter bores?

any thoughts?

What I think you have is an early 70 block casted in 69 before they started casting the CI in the lifter valley, Possible service block. The bore would be correct for a 400 or a 428. Measure the mains.
