Default So Iím Confused quick 16 and frantic 4

Which donít take much to confuse me...LOL. Letís see if I got this right. To run The quick 16 you have to qualify, so only the fastest 16 cars get to run off. But itís not a heads up raceing, itís s bracket race.

So in essence It eliminates a 7 or low 8 second car from having to race a 10 second car making it and elite class.

Ok frantic 4, only the fastest 4 get to run, but is it heads up. Or again just another bracket race.

All depends on who is making the rules for the frantic four.

Example:
The start will be heads up/pro tree
The race can run on an index like 4.80 (1/8th mi.) You can run right up to the index but you cannot go below it. So you'll see some pedaling going on.
1st to the finish line wins but.....
Run under the index and you are out.
If you and your opponent run under the index worst offender goes home.
Winner will be assessed a penalty and usually that means having to add weight.

Or they can run a "Chicago Style" race where the two quickest cars or winners from the first round race each other in a final and the losers come back out and face off in a consolation race for runner up money.
Those are usually booked in shows too.
Lots of variations on the Chicago format.

Not really Lou,a friend of mines kid lost to the winner of the Q16.Kid just turn 18,dad built him a 3rd gen bird with a 535 Tiger headed single 4 engine(too small of carb)First full pass he ran like a 840s.Made a 330 pass wed night to see if it went straight.Ran in the 8.40s all day as I believe.Tyler Schenuk(spelling).Pretty unassuming car, painted STP blue.I think one pass he had a perfect light.Young reactions I guess.Tom

It was mentioned 8.40 was the bump spot in quick 16 this year. The kid did good. Dad must of been proud.

Point I was trying to make, in saying itís a Elite classes , even though itís really just a bracket race. A 8.40 car doesnít have to worry about losing to a 10.90. car. Same goes for the frantic 4. Image Butler or Kauffman loseing to a 10.90 car. It would change the out 👀

Kauffman quick 16
Butler Frantic 4

Kind of like the rest of you drit bags run Pro or Super Pro..

Except for Ernie Kepplers 78 Cat coming from the Street class lol. Ran a 10.55 at 137. Didnít really qualify, but made for some fun conversation afterwards.

You mean they ran two race classes?, but still quick 16 bump spot was 8.40 something.

Frantic 4 is heads up. First to the finish line wins. Not a bracket ace.
