Default "Super" Chevy???

We're happy to say, at the "Super Chevy" show at VMP this past Saturday, the quickest GM-powered car was NOT a a Chevy!!!

Dirty Bird made a 4.28 @ 165 1/8 mile pass in front of an "all Chevy" crowd. The only one "close" was one of the "nitro coupes" (exhibition cars), a pre-war Willys sporting an 800 CID BBC with 3 stages of nitrous. The best they could manage on Saturday was a 4.46.

This was my first "visit" to the Chevy show. I was surpised to see far fewer 7 and 8 second cars than usually show up for the Pontiac meets. Plenty of 9, 10 and 11 second cars. There were maybe 350 racers and 200 "show" cars. Man did I get tired of seeing Camaros... (:-

Now they know what the "upper crust" of GM performance looks like. ARROWHEADS!! "Dances With Elephants" (DB's Injun warrior name) served "notice", we're here and we're "for real"!!! Cudos to Dave Wilcox for another subperb driving performance! Them Chevy boys were on their feet screaming "Dirty Bird! Dirty Bird!"...

Any time you can go to a Surper Chevy deal with a Pontiac and put up those numbers with a real Pontiac motor...it's as good as kicking 10 Chevy's butts.

We use to get the Super Chevy Show here in Houston years ago. Man it use to be packed. Thought it was suppose to come back but the new owners decided not too. I would like to go to one of the Pontiac events on the east coast. One of these days I will make it.
