the cam he has left is a comp cam solid roller, 272/284 @.050, .440 lobes, ground on a 113* lobe seperation with a 109*intake centerline straight up, lift will be .700 net. fuel will be 110 as linda's, she is at 14.66:1 w/34* timing and no problems with a set of your cnc e heads.
-the car is his 62 catalina, race weight 3200#, 4.10 gear mt 31.5X10.5w slicks, TH400 and a coan 4500 converter(same as linda's), he will be using the foot brake to leave the line, and i have told him tha i think this combo might want around a 7400-7600shift point.
were would you recomend the shift point,
were would you put the cam at 109 or 106?
were would you recomend the total timing be set at?,
what would you recomend for headers,(he has some 2.25-4" colectors, and some good 2.125" header plates), should i make the headers 2.125" and step them to 2.25" or just make them 2.25" all the way?

thanks,
the Spidel family.
IMHO Absolutely Nothing Wrong with that cam,I'd put that cam in at 110-111 advancing farther will not do anything for you , How many Sims you seen at the Dagstrip lately???, I'd run a Stepped Header or a Proper Tri Y IMHO, Check out Pipe Max Just for Header design it will get you close

hp's are total junk..only 380 cfm at 600 lift?..what was barton thinking when he ported those..lol..for a std style head these things are cute..tight, fast, elegant..im sure they are gonna work very well..like ken sez, you can make single digit hp with a finger up your butt..enjoy..

Default Hummmm ???

I wonder how that motor would respond to say .... a port flowing 360+ at a modest 275cc's of volume ??? Torque would be (in the infamous words of Darth Vader) MOST IMPRESSIVE !!! Wonder what effect it would have on the HP ??

I know Stallions heads are either 420 cfm or 430 cfm but I think they are hand ported. Whats he make 1050 HP or so. But he also has a sheet metal 2x4 intake and dry sump also.
The car is a work of art from what I hear.

Here you go Tommy

ported edelbrocks..have not flowed them yet, but they ran very well on a blown 428..ports look nice..bigger valves, 2.25 and 1.77..1 head has pushrod repair where it broke thru runner on a mishap..comes with studs and guideplates, no springs..1600 bucks..or i can freshen and set them up for 2k..i will have flow numbers soon..and some pics

trades welcome..

Oh by the way...he bought a set of CV-1....
