My 11" 8 lugs stopped faster then my disc set up, it was the not knowing what side of the road my car might jump to that I didn't like..

Not being on a crowned road but a flat strip, I'd keep the drums. You also have the advantage of removing the self adjuster and not having any drag..

still got drums with non power single reservoir suicide master cylinder that it came with in 65.
