Posting Picture Pictures taken with digital cameras are huge files and take for ever to load specially for those with dial up. They really slow the board down not counting taking up a tremendous amount of band width. You'll have to reduce the size before you post them..here is a free progam that is real easy to use..go here and down load it for free. Resize them to 800 X 600 pixels...Thank you http://www.irfanview.net/

Default Vintage Floppers and Diggers

Let's see some pics guys.

I know Baker and Barcak have some pics to share.

Vintage pics or pics of modern day rebuilds and/or re-creations too.

Here's a RARE photo. Mickey Thompson's Grand Am, driven by Dale Pulde, before it had paint! Pulde is the clean shaven bloke on the right.

A trio of 1st gen. Firebird funnies...Lew Arrington's '68 Brutus and Gene Conway's '68 and '69. Note Gene's '68 is not a 1-piece fliptop body.

Arnie's "Boss Bird" (there were two built). This one features R.A. V power (the other sported a 426 Hemi). This is THE last funny car Arnie raced on fuel (nitromethane) with pure Pontiac power before the big fire that forced his retirement from drag racing. The magnesium Bear Claw rims on the back of it would sell for a small fortune on EBAY today.

Rusty Delling 1968. Note this is another door entry Fiberglass Trends body, which were "out of fashion" not long after 1968 in favor of the 1-piece fliptop bodies. Man I would LOVE to have one of these bodies today! Dig the stretch job on the nose!

Jess Tyree, 1969. He also used this body in 1969, but with a different headlight/grille treatment. Steve Barcak owns this body today and it still sports the original paint. How's that for now? Enough pictures for the gallery? I'll post more tomorrow.

Meant to say Tyree used that body in 68-89.

KS Pittman, 1968 or '69. Malcolm Durham in his Strip Blazer Camaro in the far lane. Malcolm was one of the first Black men to race successfully in NHRA, starting with Super Stocks in the early 60's and graduating to the A/FX class which eventually evolved into Funny Car. Malcolm hailed from the Washington, DC area.
