Was that photo at Samoa or further inland?
Spun it out on the way to the track. OUCH!
Tell me you were trying to miss the GEICO squirrels? LOL
Your car reminds me of Bill Taylor's Bad Medicine GTO.
A local runner here in So Cal.
He eventually had it set up like a late 1960's funny car w/stock block & running different nitro percentages then retired it and started working with Vince Mayeda on his funny car . They got on the top ten list with the funny car .Stock Pontiac Block.
They switched over to Hemi power though in 2015. Economics.
Its at Samoa,70 deg and sea level baby
Yeah, spun it out on the way to the track. My fault and bad luck. I just put the skinny's on the front, had a spool and these tall truck tires on the back for driving out there. It was summer and here it gets these little fog banks here and there. Always, clears up about noon. I love that weather. Anyway going to pass someone and I had enough room but some guy came out of one going about 85mph on a 2 lane road. So I let off the gas and just eased the wheel over slightly to get back in my lane and it was like the front tires just pushed right through like they were roller skates. The back wheels wanted to be the front wheels.
I did 2 long slow spins at 70 and as I came off the road to the right there was old railroad tracks. And as the car plowed through the thick heavy gravel (the sound was freaky) the right front dug in and the car spun hard, did a fast hard 360 and pushed in both of my perfect front fenders I just did all the body work in steel. Ended up with the rear tires on the tracks, broke one rear wheel, bent all my old ladder bars and crossmember.
I hope the front bumper is still OK. It might just be the mounts out of place.
But anyway I got it home and inspected all the damage. There were rocks everywhere you could think of under the car.
Just lucky I did not go off the road to the left. It drops 3-4 feet. I would have been killed.
So now the car gets a trailer ride.
