Some video from the event.
As you can see the funny cars and fuel altereds were having trouble right at the hit.
The longer wheelbase dragsters fared a little better as did the door cars(not shown on this highlight video)
Even though the track got sprayed 2 times
Not enough rubber was down and the high power short wheelbase fuel cars could not hook at the hit.
Nitro Jim Holtz in The Trouble Maker AA/FA got crossed up swapped lanes with the Black Sunshine AA/FA driven by Jeff Arend and almost tagged the wall.
Gary Densham in his night run against Del Worsham managed to stay on it , actually almost ran it to the 1/8th mile and got it stopped with no chute. Whoops!
Gary's got stones!
I got it from a good source that the track had been scraped 2 weeks prior but probably not enough rubber got laid down between then and the night of the event.
The surface was still too green to hold the high power.
Even the extra PJ 1 was not helping with the high powered cars.
This is what the track surface should've been like.
Earlier at this years Antique Drags on April 27 the Witch Doctor AA/FA lays down a track record pass for the Barona 1/8 mile.
So when the surface is right it can hold the power.
