Default Rack & pinon?

97 grand prix gtp how hard is it to change out the seals on the rack and pinon. do you have to have any special tools to do it or not? thanks

Default Check twice to be sure

Be sure of the leak area because there are two different types of leaks on a PS Unit. One is the several threaded tube nuts or threaded bulheads Then there are several O-ring seals at the bulkheads, pinion shaft, or piston rod guide. If you are a tech the rebuild will be a no brainer because you will have the "special tools". If you are a newby by all means condider a reman/exchange or doner car from the bone yard or impound lot.
FYI. when I was young and dumb I once pulled a PS unit that was OK. The oil pan gasket was seeping from above! nuffsaid
