Default Please Help! 7/16 Rocker Stud for Edelbrock Heads

I bought the 87cc heads bare knowing I wanted to use other components, the heads are now assembled except for the guide plates and rocker studs. Not looking at the size of the base threads I bought a set of 7/16 ARP pro rocker studs for pontiac from summit and when I received them I noticed the base was 1/2...I know what a stooge I have been reading up on threads about this rocker stud issue and found one that gave me part # ARP 234-7206 for chevy heads that would fit my eheads. The base thread length of the chevy rocker stud is 0.850 in. , basically the same length as the boss for the stud in the eheads. My question is that I am curious if the 1/8 in. guide plate will interfere with the depth of the arp chevy stud base. Should the bottom of the stud be touching the bottom of the boss or will this 1/8 make a big difference when torquing down the stud? Also the chevy's effective stud length is 1.900 in. and my springs installed height is 1.750 in., will this be enough length when using perma locs? Any insight on this issue is much appreciated thank you!

The Chevy studs are available in many different lengths and also the base thread length comes in different lengths. You want your poly locks to thread on as far as possible without leaving the jam nut sticking out.

At KRE we use ARP 100-7101 rocker studs 1.900 long. on all our heads that may use polylocks and they work well.
