Default gauge lights don't work

I have an interesting problem. One night a police officer stopped me and told me that my taillights were out, the fuse had blown and the gauge lights went out to because they are on the same cicuit, then one day all of the gauge lights stopped working but the fuse is good and the printed curcuit on the back of the gauges does not have any visible bad spots, has anyone else had this problem?

Check that the fuse is 100%, many times, the glass fuses are hard to see if they're blown.

the taillights work, i probably need to look for bad wires, but i think it might be the printes curcuit on the back of the gauges because for a couple of days before the lights went out one of them was blinking on and off like it was shorting out

Default Gadges do not work

I had many electrical problems, so I rewired my car, Check the clip coming
out of the fuse box, that clip feeds all the rear lights. Also if the gadges do not work check the small fuse in the fuse box. Here is a chart of all the rear wire colors.

Dark Green = Right tail turn signal

Yellow = Left tail light turn signal.

Brown = Brakes

Light Green = Reverse lights

Orange = Trunk.

don't overlook the possibility that the actual light switch itself is bad....i have two examples of '65 switches that work head/tail lights, but be damned if they won't work the dash lights !!!!

g-man65 you just jogged my memory, my light switch nob looked bad so i swapped it with a 78 lightswitch that i had. the car sat for a while and i completely forgot about switching them, I'll bet that the 78 switch i put in is not working the gauge lights.

I added a ground wire to my car and fixed it well! They are not grounded worth a darn try it the lights will be brighter and sometimes make them work if not already.

I had a prob. with the harness connector in the trunk for the tailights...corroded bad but appeared ok until i cut it apart. I just used good connectors and taped it up they work great now!
