This is the spark plug to deck height after decking.

The actual intake valve I will use will be 2.08" x 5.165" for a 5.7L Late model Hemi. It's basically identical to this one, except longer. This is a stock 6.1 hemi valve, and is 4.9something inch's long. Too short for my needs.

Default It's Christmas in December! Oh yeah.

I got my pistons today. They are CP's Bullet line of forged piston. They have a compression height of 1.630". Made for a 6.700" BBC rod. The pin is BBC .990" x 2.500". Weighs 128 grams. Piston weighs 540 grams, compared to over 600 for stock or around 600 for the Icons 400 piston. It utilizes .073" wire locks which are not only lighter than Spiral-locks, but also stronger, and way less likely to beat out. Pretty much impossible to beat wire locks out. The rings are 1.5mm x 1.5mm x 3mm. They are a steel gas nitrided top ring. Here are some pics before I start working on them.

They are very reasonably priced too, and come with rings that are good for nitrous, turbo, or blower. The clips come with a tool to install them also. The nice little sheet that the stuff is sitting on came with them also! It's nice, almost silk-like.

Default Is it a sign or what?

I woke up this morning from a dead sleep, rolled over and looked at the clock. It was 4:13! I think this is going to be a good day!

Well, it seems I'm not building a 413 anymore. The pistons are for a 4.181" bore, not 4.185" like I thought. Now I will have a 412. Damn, don't think I'll meet my power expectations anymore!

Go 412!

Well, I'm not happy with my chamber mods. They helped the exhaust a little, but did next to nothing for the intake. On a brighter note, I did find several things that DON'T work in creating more flow! I'm sure the mods will help with swirl though, which is some benefit. I think the flat chamber floor is hurting it also. I don't really like the shape of the chamber I did. It's not what I had pictured in my head. Will try a different shape on another chamber.

Now back inside the port!
