Okay, now this shit is getting serious....

Waffle House has now closed 365 locations across the U.S. due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile....

Professors fear lectures will be exposed as more classes go online due to coronavirus. Millions of them are discussing how to prevent their lectures from being exposed to their liberal indoctrination of students !

21 Million Chinese Cellphone Users Disappear in Three Months of Pandemic.

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced on March 19 the number of phone users in each province in February. Compared with the previous announcement, which was released on Dec. 18, 2019, for November 2019 data, both cellphone and landline users dropped dramatically. In the same period the year before, the number of users increased.

The number of cellphone users decreased from 1.600957 billion to 1.579927 billion, a drop of 21.03 million. The number of landline users decreased from 190.83 million to 189.99 million, a drop of 840,000.

A bit odd for 21 million Chinese cell phones to abruptly disappear, given that cell phone usage has been increasing constantly in China for years, and phones have been touted as an important tool for containing the coronavirus epidemic.

The article went on to postulate that some of the landlines might have been shut down as a consequence of the coronavirus quarantines, particularly lines used by shuttered business operations, but the sheer magnitude of the cell phone user decline makes it more difficult to explain. On the other hand, it has been reported the government is currently requiring citizens to use their cell phones to generate “health codes” so their movements can be tracked and permission to travel can be restricted to healthy individuals, so as one commentator put it, it is effectively “impossible for a person to cancel his cellphone.”

Lacking data, the real death toll in China is a mystery. The cancellation of 21 million cellphones provides a data point that suggests the real number may be far higher than the official number.

But then some China sources in the questionable category, as here in the US, may be very untrustworthy and should be fact checked!

I don’t think we’re going to get any real information about how many actual deaths there was in China. Also don’t think we know where all this is going to go.
Hope I’m wrong but we may not see the end of this until the end of May.

We are a small state and very small town and everything is shut down and I mean everything. Except for grocery stores and gas stations. From 7 to 10 AM only the elderly are allowed in a grocery stores.. with lines and markers all stay at certain distance.

We don’t have that many cases in the state of Rhode Island but the cautions
they are taking is a smart move.

All our children have been laid off from their jobs and have applied for unemployment. Hopefully this bill they pasted, They will get their full pay rather than 60% of their pay.

I know I thing it’s gonna be a long month of April. Everybody is stressed not knowing where this thing is going to go. All we can do is sit and wait

Lou,
I'm with you on this . I am a cautious skeptic.
The link to the Johns Hopkins "sick map" that I posted up earlier on this thread has a big fat disclaimer on it in the fine print (kinda like the KRE limits/release of liability. LOL) They are not responsible in anyway as to the accuracy of any of the data the are posting on that website and make no claims that it is accurate in anyway.
All other countries are showing recovered cases .USA is showing none.
We have been at this for over two months now if you walk it back to when the probable cases started showing up on our shores before the "official cases" of COVID19 were flown to California. Right around the time the Democrats lost their impeachment bid in the US Senate.
Deliberate last hope/nuclear option? Convenient coincidence? if it is the latter it's just their dumb luck
The H1N1 deal in 2009 started in Veracruz Mexico it was swine flu virus traced to pigs there .
USA took no drastic measures like we are seeing now.
Different regime here then and we were already in a deep economic crisis then.
The USA ,according to the CDC numbers, lost 12,000 plus people to H1N1 virus.
Add in the total from the expected deaths from seasonal influenza A & B & the total soars to over 17,000 deaths in the USA alone attributed to deaths by flu viruses and complications caused by them.
You do not see those numbers advertised by the mainstream media. It does not fit their current narrative or mission.
Now where was this government/ public outcry / concern & paranoia in 2009?
Not much. It was pretty much business as usual, go get yer flu shot and be careful.
The Mexican president then,Calderon, called for a shut down/quarantine for all citizens there and got publicly scalded for it because it hurt the already faltering Mexican economy.
Obama chose not to go that route because we were already in deep shit here too and he saw the fix Calderon was in politically. Calderon was trying to do the right thing then.
Calderon, unlike his current successor, also had harsh policies towards the drug cartels and corruption within the Mexican government.

Fast forward to 2020.
There is legitimately elected US President in office that the Democrats have vowed to take down by using "Any Means Necessary" (that's a phrase right out of the communist manifesto). For 4 years the Democrats have been preoccupied with nothing else but bringing down this president.
They have not been getting the business of the country & the people they are supposed to be representing done. Too busy playing power politics while problems mount.
Case in point is the current COVID19 relief bill that is stalled in congress and the senate because everyone is trying to turn it into "Pork Barrel "legislation. They are all climbing on and attaching all kinds of stuff to this relief legislation that is not related to this "health crisis". Stuff is getting attached that would not pass muster legislatively on its own merits.
So they play politics while the middle class & poor US citizens languish in self quarantined despair waiting for some help from the government that has requested us to make these drastic temporary changes in our life styles.
We are hearing local civil officials threatening to arrest people, shutdown water & power to businesses that do not comply to whatever the current civil authority general orders are, and they keep changing by the day.
The LA County Sheriff is ordering all gun shops in his jurisdiction to close because they are considered by him to be "non essential businesses".WTF!? What's next here?
If this bill passes with all the pork attachments will there be a sudden miraculous dramatic turn around in this public health crisis?

Here are some other bits of anecdotal information.
At a major healthcare facility.
When this corona virus pandemic got started the infection control and disaster preparedness teams at a large hospital sprang into action "we've got this! No cause for
alarm here .We are the experts".
They train for these types of events.
They got a lot of things right but some really simple important stuff wrong.

As to where to place patients with COVID19 which were being treated as if they had plague or anthrax.
The medical staff was placing the patients at the facility in any empty patient room available and then telling the people in engineering to adjust the ventilation system to negative pressure with respect to the airflow to the rest of the rooms on that wing so as to comply with the room ventilation requirements for that type of case.
Well that's sort of possible to do but it is not very effective or safe.
The rooms these types of cases need to be put into are supposed to be dedicated isolation rooms with their own dedicated outside exhaust that does not return air back to the main air handlers fan and recirculate back into the common building supply air duct work. A true isolation room has an isolated ante room for entering and exiting the actual isolation room the patient is in.Not supposed to be able to enter directly off the main corridor. Older hospital buildings were never designed to meet those types of isolation standards. Most of them are not setup to actually handle these types of cases unless they have upgraded the facility in the last 15 years or so.

The way the ventilation system of a particular building operates had to explained in detail to the medical staff and their chief epidemiologist so that they did not repeat their blunder and potentially contaminate the recirculated air to the rest of a wing's patient beds, corridors and employees.

The only way to make it work with an older facility would be to make an entire wing "negative" using 100% outside makeup air at the air handler(s) close off the return air grills for each room and let the air exhaust through the bathroom exhaust air duct or through a temporary exhaust fan that could be fitted to a window if there was a window that opened to outside air(most exterior glass wall hospitals do not feature windows that open to the outside-if they did they have to be secure or run the potential risk of patients occasionally jumping out of them).

The medical staff, initially , was not disclosing to the rest of the hospital support staff which COVID19 patients were in which rooms. That's since been resolved.

Visitors have been restricted and cannot even use the cafeteria.
Employees and vendors have to badge in at a designated screening choke points each shift.
In the past if an employee had not been vaccinated for the "flu" the"hospital policy" was the employee was required to wear a mask at all times while at work.
Enter COVID 19 the virus for which there is no current vaccination and according to all reports spreads like wild fire.
Now there is a shortage of N95 masks.
Hospital support staff is instructed that constantly wearing a mask at all times is not preventing anything, is wasting masks and causing undue alarm .If an employee did not receive a flu shot, now in the interest of conserving masks they are no longer required to wear a mask at work all day long which means the initial order which required that mask to be worn was always pure bullshit and just used to punish an employee for choosing to not get vaccinated for the flu.
The cafeteria dining area is for employees only now but if all employees had lunch in that area they would exceed the maximum allowable size for a "gathering".
Comfort/Service animals are no longer allowed inside the hospital. Never should have been allowed in there in the first place, imo.
Tyvek suits are being rationed. The suits ,as are masks and gloves, are needed for hazardous medical work ,changing air filters for the HVAC systems and doing most drain/sewer work.
People are sabotaging the drainage system by flushing bed sheets down public toilets.
This contaminates whole areas that require immediate remediation and sanitizing.
It has been proven that COVID19 virus stays alive on some surfaces for up to 17 days.
That was found out when they went to decontaminate/sanitize the two cruise ships that were quarantined.
Employee locker rooms at certain hospitals are probably not being terminally cleaned the way they need to be to limit spread by surface contact during all this fuss.
Same goes for public and employee restrooms.

Water fountains that are in public and employee areas were never shut down/bagged placed off limits. Now if a healthcare facility is trying to stop the spread of a disease/virus that is said to be easily spread person to person by means of common contact and droplets why would simple stuff like that get overlooked by the experts in charge?
An employee was observed washing their hands in a drinking fountain located in a medical staff/office building. That's when this issue with the drinking fountains was brought to the attention of the persons in charge of infection control.
Crazy dumb shit stuff like this taking place everyday at a major "cutting edge" healthcare facility. That does not make any sense!
So if that type of stuff is going on in one place it is probably happening at others all across the country as well.
Virus potentially being spread by blunders at the very facilities that are testing for it and treating it.

LA sheriff over stepped his authority and the mayor opened gun shops. Most are sold out of ammo waiting for new shipments. Many calif shoppers that found if they have not purchased a firearm in the last 5 years have to wait to get cleared and were buying virtually anything like crossbows and baseball bats to protect their TP and hand sanitize!Tom

The $2 trillion spending package to boost the economy in response to the coronavirus crisis includes a $350 million pot of money for “Migration and Refugee Assistance” -- the latest item in the legislative behemoth.

The Migration and Refugee Assistance Act was passed in 1962 to deal with unexpected and urgent needs of refugees, displaced persons, conflict victims, and other persons at risk around the globe.

This was another time for Democrats to advance their legislative agenda.
