Default Tiger head swap.

Looking to change to base race Tigers (non CNC) from my 330 E heads. Will I need off set lifters? Can I make my Victor fit? How much taller is the Tiger intake? What are the intake port sizes on the Tigers? Are there any other mods/items I would need for this swap? My 535 IA2 is set up for the Tigers and I am running a Terminator on alcohol. My car weighs 3030# with me in the seat. TH400 3.90 and 32" tire. Presently running 9.25@148 on motor shifting at 5800. Will try my Fogger next week end. Thanks for any help/info. ... Eric.

May have to port (or port match)the Victor some more too.
Give Bob and Frank a call. They pretty much have all the r&d combo's sorted out.

Yes you need offset lifters ,Jesel rockers and new pushrods. The Victor will work with Allpontiac manifold spacers ,they will have to be port matched to manifold and heads ,the Tiger as cast port is 1.260 wide and 2.640 high, its floor is 1.480 off deck.Current production Tigers are 59 cc chamber, three valve spring options ,dual Nextek.880-.900 lift ,triple Nexteks .880-.900 lift and triple Nexteks 1.00 net lift.heads are in stock and can be preped and shipped in reasonable time.Bill C.

Thanks for the info. By base Tigers I meant the CNC'd combustion chamber models with the shafts etc. as advertised on the AP web page. I just didn't want the full CNC version as was shown making over 1000HP. I'm looking at making a reliable 850-900HP, LOL.

No sweat on 850-900 HP with a 535....I wouldn't think.
I have the "race" Tigers on my 507 and it nailed over 800HP on a conservative pull....with dual AFB 750's on a Gutsram with 2" headers..

What lift at what rocker ratio is your cam? When I did my swap I had to cut the pistons, different valve angles and I think Tigers had a minimum 1.7 rocker ratio at the time, if that is still the case you need to be sure your cam works with those ratios.

The cam will also be changed when I go to Tigers. When I picked up my short block I was told that it was Tiger ready. I will be checking everything once I get all my parts. Right now I'm just trying to piece things together and see how much a Tiger swap would cost. Thanks for all the replies. All the info is helpful and hopefully the Tigers are in my near future. ... Eric.

My mistake, I read it as you were making a swap with a running combo. Sounds like the additional costs are offset lifters (do yourself a favor, run the .200 tall Isky RedZone), new pushrods, rockers and heads!

Cams are never a big deal, everyone expects to change them... we change them more than some of my pit crew changes Undies!!!
