1974 GTO FACTS
The GTO option was no longer available on the intermediate LeMans in 1974,but on 2 Ventura models instead-a 2-door Notchback and a 2-door Hatchback Coupe. The GTO could be identified by a functional shaker hood scoop, similar to the unit found on the Firebird Trans Am,a GTO decal on the right side of the grill panel,GTO decal on the rear deck or hatch, and GTO decals on each front fender behind the wheel wells.Decal color varied with body-color paint. In the interior there was a GTO emblem on each door panel.
Only 1 engine was available...a 350 cubic Inch V8 rated at 200 Horse Power mated to a 3-speed manual transmission.Compression ratio was 7.6:1., A 4-speed manual and the 3-speed automatic transmissions were optional.Dual exhaust were standard using a single transverse muffler. The stock exhaust tailpipes exited behind the rear wheels with chrome exhaust splitters optional.
A split bench seat was standard on the GTO,with a variety of bench seat variations and bucket seats optional.
Standard on the GTO were 14 X 6 RAlly II wheels without trim rings, which were optional.E70X14 belted blackwalls were standard.
Also standard were Drum Brakes, a .812 front sway bar and a .562 rear anti-sway bar.
All other Ventura options were available in conjunction with the GTO option package.
