I have my base timing set at 38° pulling 1° per pound. I was at 26° at 12psi. I lowered my boost to 10psi and left the timing alone. Now I'm at 28° at 10psi. Spraying 625ml of water/methanol right now. Need another 625ml nozzle at the power level that it's at. Dont have any idea right now what my iat's are. I am gonna buy a 6530 MSD box so that I can wait to pull timing till a few psi. Plugs look great. I do keep it fat. It's around 10.4afr at wot. Need to take a point out. Lol! I think you could add a good amount of timing. Probably pick up 100hp.Lol

I love my 6530. One of the better investments I made.

With the boost retard map I have I was probably at around 15 Deg timing at 14 lbs boost. I agree that I am VERY conservative but Im a coward and cant afford to build this thing again so I plan to sneak up on it. But based on your numbers I may be ultra conservative. Will have to play with the map and not pull timing as quick and see if the motor likes it.

Thank you again for the information. Very helpful.
Yeah I didn't want to say anything, but you in my opinion don't even have to lower your timing from where you are now for 14 psi.. At 15 degrees you are holding a lot of power back and making a lot of extra unnecessary heat which is compounding the problems found in the tuning process .So if I was you I would turn the timing up. But don't do it because I say so . Not that you would , im just trying to give you another opinion from the outside. Also , do you have a way to read and know you air intake temp? That is SO important . Really important.. You really should get your AFR in better check. There is a way to do it. I was blow through for most of my leaning curve and found how to get it. If you ever want to talk about it let me know and we can discuss it further..
I just want to say something here. I have never had a turbo on a 8 cylinder. And a 8 cylinder makes a bus load of power more then ill ever make with my 4 cylinder . But there is one aspect of it that is the same. The tuning. Its literally half of a 389. So Just like Mr V always told me, "tune it like as if it was a 389" So that's what I do and never had any real bad problems. So with the fact that it will never make what you guys will with your 8 cylinders and I have a need for speed , I was forced to go though the fear (just like you are now ) of going higher and higher with the psi. In my case though I have to go 2 extra atmospheres higher then you do . lol. I remember when I first got it running at 5 psi . I was pissing my pants that I was going to burn it up. Then I tried 10 the 15 then 20 all the way to 45 psi! haha.... Point is I was more scared each time I went up 5 psi because I didn't know where the wall would be . you know that dreaded cliff? Now I know. So that's why I will never bust some ones balls to go higher. They have to do what I did then they'll look back like I do and actually laugh.... I hope im not coming off like I know it all because I DONT. Im just trying to share the curve I went through with you because I know where you're at and I wish I had someone there to tell me this...

When I bought my S60 I was running an N2O motor that spun 7200 RPM and liked a lot of gear. I would like to go to 3.23 or 3.08 now. Someday I might build a 9" for my TA and put my S60 under my GrandPrix. That's funding I just don't have right now.

After doing the math on Charlies timing information it looks like he is pulling .414 Degrees of timing per Lb of boost, starting at 4 Lbs. I have set mine to pull .8 Deg/Lb and if that feels good I will change it to .7/Lb.

Shooting to get in the 9s without increasing the boost. Last outing I ended up in the grass and gravel at the end of the track. Shutdown area at this track is short. They only let us slow arse street cars run 1/4 mile. All their race classes are 1/8 only. I upgraded to slightly better vented rotors and SSBC dual piston calipers. It stops better. Not as good as I want but it should keep me out of the grass. Heading back Friday for TNT.

Charlie, Just to verify. What fuel are you running?

E85.

Can I ask what psi are you at and what your timing curve is going to be..

Please don't just go by what I did.

I read my plugs all the time to get what's good for my combination.

What has been the most psi you've run and at what total timing?

What fuel are you using?

7lbsboost, 4000lbs stock suspension ran 9.49. That was easy, lol.

Now,finishing up stainless headers and out in a few weeks f0r the test and tune. Think I need a chute
