i think what bob is saying maurice, is that when it became a money game, the spirit died..

i was there when guys started swapping cars coast to coast and saying they spent huge money, driving the prices up..it was all a scam..at that time, you could buy a gto for reasonable money, and build a fun toy..now its all big cash, and restos done by experts..not that the end result is bad, just the route taken..only rich old guys can run pontiacs now..i am sad too..

and i should have snatched your car when i had the chance..

Thanks TIN TIGR for the explanation but it would be nice to hear Bob's explanation.
I guess I just do not understand the resto deals because I am in it just for going very fast with a race car and I am not mechanically inclined enough to build my own motors, trannys and race cars so I have to buy those things.
I would love to be able to build all those things myself but I can't so I do my research and try to buy the best stuff for the best price.
What car of mine did you want to buy?
Thanks Maurice.

Yes Tom, that was my Grand Prix. It was a good car and would have liked to keep it if I had the money but as you know needed the money from old car to finish new car.
Funny thing, a Chevy guy bought it and was a really nice guy, think of that, a Chevy guy being nice!!
He put a bigger motor in and sprayed it and it did not go much faster then my 400 N/A motor.

Maurice.

I didn't read through this entire thread, but I can say that I do not buy Pypes exhaust anymore simply because they do not fit well. For the price you pay for them they should fit a lot better. I am not the only one I know either. two friends of mine got Pypes exhaust, poor fitment. One actually removed his and put a Flowmaster exhaust on it that was half the price and it went on perfectly.

God forbid you ever mention anything about that though...

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I don't go on PY much at all anymore.

Funny....

Jim Hand gets the boot from Fulper's newsletter for bullshitting people about his combination and Fulper and Hand exchange a number of hot emails on the subject. Fulper confronted Hand PUBLICALLY for lying about his vehicle's weight, compression ratio and use of fuel additives. Hand has been a hater of Fulper ever since.

Like most crooks, who operate under the auspices of being a stand-up guy, he has to blame all of his perceived faults on someone else. A 'crook' doesn't have to steal money, they can publish false ideas, misleading statements or just plain steer people the wrong way. One time is all it takes to win the title.

For Hand, the convenient scapegoat was Fulper. One of the reasons I was banned from PY was for challenging Jim Hand on this very topic.

Recently, I was able to see an exact replica of Jim Hand's engine (built as closely as possible to the recipe in his book) including the Wolverine camshaft, cylinder head modifications and everything else.

The engine didn't make anywhere near what Hand claimed, which several of Hand's closest allies have also revealed.

After screwing in more camshaft, more compression and a Holley, the engine actually exceeded Hand's dyno reports, which also leads me to believe that Hand is fudging, like he did when he spit the crank out from detonation a few years back, from running so much compression.

Ask anyone close to Hand and they will tell you his 'results' have never been duplicated.

It's all politics and money....Robert

Funny thing is nothing was said until I posted on a political thread about the mass destruction the demonstrators made here during the G-20 Summit riots. Oh well no big deal, I'm more into working on my car and driving it then posting about it..

I always enjoyed your posts.... I love 57-64 Fords!
I've been banned for months, yet people still report seeing my 'green light' illuminated from time to time and several of my pals on PY still get harassing PM's from my screenname....

About now is the time to offer him a chance of going quicker with true Pontiac power!!! lol just think, build a duplicate but for nos version of your old engine, and spray it. He'll go quicker and most likely for less $$$$

some chevy guys are nicer than moderators on Pee Why. especially if you ask them kindly not to delete replies or close threads just because there is an emerging set of statistics about failed chinese cranks. I guess they are getting on top of this early so it does not get out like KRE's budder block fiasco.
