Default WTB '59-'60 Catalina 2dr

I'm looking to buy (or trade, see further into ad) a good '59-'60 Catalina 2 dr body. The frame is not importand and would like a 59-60 389 block but drivetrain not neccessary. I will buy or if interested I have a '40 Olds coupe I picked up for a gasser project but am selling. Would trade up/down/whatever for the Catalina. I'm placing an ad for the '40 Olds into this section also. Thank you for looking. Mark L

You should buy it and make it even more evil than Calvin Hill's fathers car!

Same car on craigslist...

Hey no problem at all. Everyone looking out for what I want is a great thing, I thank you for that. I already contacted the owner of the '59 in Akron, I offer $4500 but he said he would not budge, said he had that much in it. Now I see he came down $100. Heh. I really liked it but with a hole in the trunk and a new paint job I worry about what I'm not seeing. Plus I still have to pay shipping. But agin thanks for the links.I love the attention,LOL. Especially if you see anything this way. It's funny, when I was in Wisconsin all I saw was west coast and AZ cars, now I moved out here to AZ and all I see is east coast and chicago cars. Man I can't win. Mark Ld

Mark,

We have a Bonneville, but no Catalina's to part with. We also have a few 59 blocks and other parts if you need it.

Thanks.

Got a car in the works, will know better tomorrow since the owner is gving a guy a first chance since he talked to him first. Seems like I always jinx myself by talking in depth aboutcars I find so I'm being mum on this until I have it in the bag. Mark L

Calvin I thank you for your offer. I just moved down here a year ago from Elkhorn WI, just north of you. If I were still in Elkhorn I'd already be at your door for a block. Have you ever shipped one? Wonder what it would cost to AZ? Yea, I'm looking for a Cat. The Bonnie is too long for the right look. That '59 of yours just makes my blood boil everytime I watch it. Which is very, very often. I'm thinking we could get the block shipped for about $200.00, if you are looking for a build we can help you with that as it wouldn't really cost anymore to ship a complete engine. I agree with you about the looks of the Bonneville, we do have a really nice Catalina that's a driver, white outside with a red interior, but I don't think we are ready to part with that just yet. We bought that car about 20 years ago, had 50,000 miles and was a steal. I think we've put another 25k on it without doing anything to the engine, maybe we changed plugs once.

Well I can finally that the car I've been looking at is mine to buy. I'm waiting for the guy to come look at my '40 Olds for a trade. It's a '63 Catalina 2dr hardtop and the body is in unbelievable condition. The interior is really bad but that's OK. Was an automatic car, trans is laying in the back seat and most of the engiine is in the front and back seats. No block. Can't say anymore until I get it home. I'm really up for this thing. Owner is coming Thursday to look at my stuff. I'm going to make an offer he can't refuse. Hope I'm right, heh. Mark L
